This page and its subpages contain the most up-to-date policies. In the case that there is a discrepancy with information written elsewhere, this page is to be considered the policy currently in force.

Shipping Returns & Refunds Import Taxes Privacy Policy 

 

By visiting Yunomi.life (the "Website") you agree to the following terms & services.

Please read these Terms & Services carefully before agreeing to be bound by the same. If you do not agree to be bound by the Terms & Services, do not access or use this website. By using this Website or by placing any purchase orders using the Website, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth herein. Only upon acceptance of the terms contained herein, you will be entitled to submit electronic orders. Any violation of the terms will result in termination of your account.

 

 

Shipping Rates

Shipping rates are based on weight of the order, shipping region, and shipping method. Shipping rates are calculated to include handling, packaging, and in the certain cases (particularly large orders to EU) extra fees and labor necessary for export from Japan. Please place the items you would like to purchase into your cart, and visit the CART page to calculate based on your region.

Shipping Methods

All shipping is calculated by weight, based on the shipping address you enter on this site (not PayPal). We offer several different shipping methods and rates depending on shipping location, method and courier / postal service. To calculate shipping, place items in your cart, and proceed to checkout to enter in your information. A shipping estimator is also available on the cart page.

All times listed are approximate, and may depend on your country, region, or other circumstances. Local import taxes, customs processing fees may be required of you by the courier or postal service depending on your location and the product you are importing. We are unable to prepay for these taxes and/or fees. Please check with your local postal office and/or DHL office to find out what these fees might be.

 

Processing

Processing of orders generally requires 2-5 business days, but may require longer time in some cases due to inventory or backlog. A notice will be sent to you when your item is shipped.

 

Best by dates

We guarantee that all food products are shipped with at least two months left before its best by date unless otherwise stated. We recommend that products be consumed within one month of opening the package. Exceptions are noted on the specific product pages. In some cases, an item may ship without a Best by date. When an item has a mistaken best by date, we may choose to replace the item at our discretion.

 

INCOTERMS: Free Carrier (FCA)
Non-delivery, loss of shipment

Yunomi ships products according to Incoterms Free Carrier (FCA). Neither Yunomi nor its Partners are responsible for loss or non-delivery of a shipment after it has been sent from the post office in Japan. If a tracking number is available for the shipment (Express or purchased separately for Standard or Economy), we will attempt to help you locate the package in case of loss. On retail orders we will reship the package after the insurance claim has been processed.

However, in the event of non-delivery due to failure to accept shipment, we will reship the order after it has returned to us (it takes about 3 months). In the case, cost of shipping must be borne by the customer.

Damage to shipped products

In the event of damage to a shipment, please contact us immediately and we will attempt to rectify the situation to the best of our ability. Photographic evidence is required, and must be submitted to us at support@yunomi.life within 7 days of arrival. Please take photographs immediately upon arrival if you believe something is wrong with the shipment. Additional insurance may be purchased above.

A certain amount of wear and tear is acceptable for packaging as long as the product itself is not damaged.

 

Returns & Refunds

In general, all sales on this Website are final. However, we may accept returns and/or refunds on a case by case basis if your package has arrived damaged or defective in some way. Please be sure to take photographic evidence and contact us immediately.

Defects include a package that has broken open, a tea ware that has broken or chipped. Packages may appear slightly damaged (dirtied label due to contact with other packages, tears in label, etc.) and color of products may not match that of photos on the website. A small amount of discoloration and/or variation of pattern is acceptable—as a general rule, 1 cm in size of variation is acceptable. 

In the case of a refund, you will be refunded the value of your item (excluding shipping) minus any discounts applied to the order whether or not it was used specifically for the item being refunded. (For example, if 2 items of $10 are purchased with a $5 discount on one item, and the non-discounted item arrives defective, then you will be refunded $7.50.)

 

Customs & Import Taxes

Please note that customs regulations vary from country to country and officials in various countries may inspect your shipment, including intrusive inspection (opening of your package). Neither Yunomi nor its Partners can guarantee any method to prevent this from happening.

We are also unable to mark items as "gifts" as this is both illegal and has no bearing on whether a package is or is not inspected. You are responsible for any import taxes or other duties that may be charged by the customs and postal services of your country.

When we report customs value, the value of each product is reported including the total value of discounts for the order. (For example, if 2 items of $10 are purchased with a $5 discount on one item, then the value of each item is $7.50, not $10 and $5.)

 

Limitation of liability

Choosing a shipping option without tracking and insurance when a shipping option with tracking and insurance (Express Airmail) is available represents your recognition of the inherent risks involved with these international shipping methods. As such, you agree to waive your right to claim non-arrival in the event that a delivery does not reach its destination.

 

Payment

Customers shall pay the price, via the payment services designated by us.

 

Termination of Agreements and Refunds Policy

Both the customers and we have the right to terminate any Services Agreement for any reason, including the ending of services that are already underway. No refunds shall be offered, where a service is deemed to have begun and is, for all intents and purposes, underway. Any money that has been paid to us which constitute payment in respect of the provision of unused services shall be refunded.

We expect customers to act in good faith, including but not limited to avoiding abuse of any promotional offers, referrals, loyalty points, etc by creating multiple accounts, or other unintended means of utilizing this website.

 

Site Terms of Use Modifications

We may revise these terms of use for its web site at any time without notice. By using this web site you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these Terms & Services.

 

Governing Law

The Terms shall be subject to Japanese law. In the event of any dispute regarding the Terms, exclusive and primary jurisdiction shall rest with Tokyo District Court. Last Revised: November 1, 2018
