This beautifully, elegantly simple kyusu tea pot by the Shoko Kiln of Tokoname features an beautiful off-white clay crafted into an oval shape with an embedded steel mesh for steeping fukamushicha.
Left unglazed but high-temperature fired (yakijime), the pot will absorb the bitterness in your tea just a little, creating a more rounded flavor profile. Expect the pot to age as a result of this absorption, turning brownish in color over the years as a mark of your connoisseurship.
